Tino Gagliardi
International President of the American Federation of Musicians of the US and Canada, Tino Gagliardi is an accomplished trumpet player who has performed in New York City’s concert, club date, and recording fields, as well as on Broadway. He was elected AFM president in 2023 and took office in August 2023. Earlier this year Gagliardi led the AFM in negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, working in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America to achieve a progressive new contract. Prior to becoming Federation president, he served as president of AFM Local 802 (New York City) from 2010 to 2018 and from 2022. As president of Local 802, Gagliardi led the negotiations for Broadway, the Lincoln Center resident orchestras, and Radio City. In 2015, Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed him to the New York City Cultural Affairs Plan Citizens’ Advisory Committee. He also has served as an AFM International Executive Board member 2010 to 2018, and served on the finance, electronic media oversight, and organizing committees.
He is a trustee and co-chair to the American Federation of Musicians and Employers’ Pension Fund, trustee and co-chair of the AFM & SAG-AFTRA Intellectual Property Rights Distribution Fund, executive committee member of the International Federation of Musicians (FIM), and serves on the executive board of SoundExchange.
