Solidarity Is Needed Now More than Ever

Dear Member,

Our shared solidarity is needed now more than ever.

Members across the United States and Canada are feeling the ramifications of the U.S. elections. Trump’s advisors are no longer running from it. They are not just admitting it. They are celebrating that Project 2025, with its direct attacks on our safety and our livelihoods, is their agenda. We remain committed to actively defending our rights in the workplace and reinforcing the strength of our union together with the AFL-CIO and Canadian Labour Congress.

I recognize that the AFM represents a diverse range of political views. However, it’s important to reaffirm that our union will always stand in solidarity with those among us who experience hate of any kind. This includes the racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia so energetically enabled by the President-elect’s campaign.

While our strategies may shift, our goals will remain focused and unwavering. Together, we will persist in our advocacy efforts for musicians on both sides of the border and work towards a brighter future.

In Solidarity,

Tino Gagliardi
AFM International President
