NEA Eliminated in President’s Budget
For the third consecutive year, the president’s proposed budget completely eliminates the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB)—which supports PBS and NPR.
“This may not be a surprise, but eliminating the NEA is just as outrageous and unacceptable as it was last year and the year before that,” said AFM International President Ray Hair. “NEA support is critical for orchestras, festivals and theaters in every state in the country. I urge Congress to defend and advance funding for the arts.”
President Trump’s $4.75 trillion budget—the largest in federal history—also makes drastic cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and many other programs. Send a message urging your member of Congress to resist President Trump’s budget and save the NEA.
