Public TV Negotiations Underway
Negotiations for a new National Public Television (NPTV) contract began earlier this week.
Since the early 1970s, AFM has represented musicians, arrangers, orchestras, and copyists working in the production, broadcast, and streaming of NPTV programs. In addition to setting wages and working conditions during recording sessions, the current contract also includes payments for reuse of programs after an initial broadcast cycle, foreign use, and when content is released in “supplemental markets” such as DVD’s and cable TV.
We are confident that negotiations with public TV will be productive.
