Must Be Paid
French production company KIDAM is cheating some of New York’s top jazz musicians. Over nine months after recording musicians at Winter Jazzfest, KIDAM has still not fully paid many musicians.
KIDAM signed a single project letter with AFM agreeing to wages and benefits for musicians recorded at JazzFest for future broadcast on the French TV station Mezzo. Well over a hundred musicians are covered by this agreement, but Kidam left the country refusing to honor their contractual promises.
Today, musicians and local elected leaders demanded justice in front of Lagardere’s offices. Lagardere is the multi-national media company that owns Mezzo TV, the French channel that is broadcasting the footage from the festival.
