Health and Therapy

Playing music can be one of the most physical occupations. In this section, we include various articles on musician's health.

A musician's health is often determined by the precautions taken and attention given to one's body. Some musicians can go a lifetime without any music-related ailments. For most of us, however, we are not so lucky. Therefore, it is necessary that we understand the various threats to a musician's health and take the necessary steps to minimize health risks.

Here a few articles on health topics of concern to musicians. If you know of any other pertinent articles, please e-mail them to sfawaz@afm.org.

Also, here are some resources on music therapy:

Music therapy through drumming is the focus of Barry Bernstein. You can visit this site at Healthy Sounds.
